Manuals & Installation

Herschel Inspire panels do not come fitted with a plug and one must be attached in order to install them DIY. Without a plug, Herschel panels must be hardwired by a professional electrician.
For wall mounted fitting, use the template provided to fix the brackets on the wall and screw the panel in place. For ceiling mounted fitting, the panels should be screwed to the ceiling joists or fitted in a suspended grid with suitable fixings. If you prefer to keep cables and sockets out of sight, the panels can be hardwired to the mains. This is a job for a professional electrician; do not attempt DIY.
Herschel Inspire panels are IP54 rated, so can be used in bathrooms provided they are appropriately hardwired by a professional electrician. Plug-in heaters must not be used in bathrooms or wetrooms. Always defer to the manufacturer’s guidelines about the bathroom suitability of any product.
Don’t forget to purchase your panels with a thermostat or timer system to help you control your heating. Installing your panels with thermostat and programming control is the best way to keep your rooms comfortable and your heating bills low. We recommend the Herschel iQ system, which allows you to thermostatically control all your panels from one central location. Some thermostat systems, like the iQ, require professional hardwired installation. However, there are plug-in thermostats available if you want to install your heating DIY.
Care must always be taken when connecting multiple radiators or heaters to avoid overloading the ring main of your property. If you are unsure, contact a qualified electrician for advice. For a professional installation, cables can be shortened and the heater connected to the mains supply by a fused spur. This work must be carried out by a qualified electrician.

The 250w Herschel Inspire Heating Panel in white a large and powerful panel which provides an energy-efficient heating solution for larger rooms and open plan spaces. Available in a range of size options, the Herschel Inspire series of prestige heaters combines energy efficient heating with style, providing striking design features for your home or business.
Herschel Inspire white panels are comprised of an aluminium front panel and a sheet steel rear panel fitted with easy-mounting points. The ultra-slim body of the panel is finished with a white powder coating which looks both discreet and stylish, making the panels an unobtrusive addition to home and office interiors. While the white finish of the Inspire will look wonderfully understated in any interior, its powder coated surface does leave you with some room for personalisation: using heat resistant paint, you can colour your Inspire panel in whatever manner you see fit to create a unique centrepiece for every room.
The panel’s surface is designed to reach temperatures of between 85 – 95 °C: warmer than a standard central heating radiator, but cooler than a ceramic or quartz infrared heater. You will not burn if you brush against an Inspire panel, but they can be mounted high up on the wall or ceiling if you want to keep them away from children or vulnerable adults.
Herschel Inspire Infrared panels do not come supplied with a plug and one must be attached for DIY installation. Without a plug, Inspire panels must be hardwired by a qualified electrician. You can mount Inspire panels horizontally or vertically.
We stock white Herschel Inspire panels in nine sizes: 250w, 350w, 420w, 550w, 750w, 820w, 900w, 1200w & 1250w.
How to control your panels
The best way to manage the energy consumption of your infrared panels is to control them with a thermostat. You can wire each panel with its own controls, or use a system like the Herschel iQ which allows you to control all heaters from one central location. Thermostatic control ensures that the heaters are only in action when temperatures need topping up, slimming down your energy usage without impacting your comfort. You can also use smart heating controllers to zone your heating, running your heaters to different schedules depending on how you use the rooms in which they are hung. Used with a thermostat, infrared heating systems are up to 60% more efficient than traditional electric heating systems such as storage heaters.
If you purchase your Herschel panels with the iQ WiFi Hub, they can be controlled via WiFi on a compatible smart device from anywhere, providing you have an internet connection. The iQ Hub simply connects to your home router and plugs into a wall socket.
Far infrared heating
Herschel Inspire Heating Panels maximise energy-efficiency by heating objects directly, passing through the room's air to heat you and your furniture – just as the sun warms you on a winter's day despite the coldness of the air. This avoids the disadvantages of conventional radiators which heat by convection – heating only the air – and expend huge quantities of energy reheating air which is lost through draughts and open doors. Infrared panels heat you and your furniture directly, and because objects retain heat better than air, your room becomes in effect a 360° heater in which walls, ceilings and furniture absorb and emit heat. This deep level of heating makes your room feel warmer than when you use a convection heater at the same temperature. This means you can set the temperature 3-4 degrees lower than normal, making huge savings on your heating bills. Boasting near total energy efficiency, with almost 100% of the energy used by the heater converted into heat, Herschel heaters offer an exceptionally efficient heating solution for your home.
Our electric panels use far infrared heat to maximise your comfort, heating up fast and warming you directly with a natural heat which feels pleasantly like the warmth of the sun. Unlike sunlight, however, which includes harmful UV rays, infrared heat is a pure heat form which is entirely safe, with absolutely no health risks. In fact, far infrared heating carries many health benefits. Unlike convection heaters, which continually move air around the room, disturbing dust and reducing humidity levels, infrared is a gentle heating method which adds nothing and takes nothing from the air. This makes it the perfect heating solution for allergy sufferers because it keeps dust out of the air and prevents skin drying out. Our panels are also exceptionally durable and require the bare minimum of maintenance. The heaters use solid state elements with no moving parts and do not use liquids or internal combustion. This means the panel won't wear down quickly and there's no risk of leaking or carbon monoxide production – so your heaters won't need to be inspected or serviced, saving you time and money. All you need to do is keep them clean. Our heating panels are also entirely silent and will help prevent damp and mould in your walls by keeping them warm.
Our far infrared heaters are eco-friendly too. They're entirely free from carbon emissions, so when used with electricity from green power sources, they're one of the few heating systems that are totally carbon free.
