    The Herschel iQ MD2 is a hardwired thermostat that must be professionally installed by a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to fit DIY. Installation requires a 46mm single gang deep pattress box and an accessible mains supply. Not suitable for bathroom installation. Choose a mounting location for your thermostat that provides a representative temperature reading for the room. Avoid hot or cold spots.

  • Warranty
    The Herschel iQ MD2 comes with a 2 Year Manufacturer’s Warranty that covers use with Herschel-branded infrared heaters only. Use with a non-Herschel branded heater will invalidate the warranty.

The Herschel iQ MD2 thermostat combines a large touchscreen interface with full WiFi control via the Smart Life app, so it’s just as easy to make adjustments to your heating whether you’re face to face with the thermostat or checking in on your phone from the other side of the world. You can even take advantage of Amazona Alexa and Google Home integration for effortless voice command control.

The MD2 boasts a full suite of control features, including a fully customisable weekly program, with 4 adjustable intervals available per day; manual control, with a 5 – 45 °C temperature range; eco mode, for easy energy-savings; and optional open window detection. The thermostat is sensitive to temperature changes down to ±0.5 °C, and the generous temperature range makes the MD2 well-suited to the high-temperature demands of hot yoga.

The Herschel iQ thermostat series is designed for Herschel infrared heaters that don’t have built-in receivers. The MD2 thermostat provides a hardwired controllable option, while the T2 thermostat and receivers provide wireless, in-home zoning of multiple heaters. Both of these thermostat systems are WiFi and voice control compatible.

The MD2’s smart home functionality makes it a great choice for futureproofing heating controls in new builds and requires professional installation. Your electrician will need to recess the unit in a cable box and complete hardwired connections to the mains and the heaters. The thermostat’s 16 Amp limit can handle multiple heaters with a combined wattage of up to 3600W.
