Herschel Advantage heaters must be hardwired by a professional electrician. The Herschel IR3 is suitable only for wall mounting. It should not be ceiling mounted. Ensure all fitting guidelines provided in the manual are adhered to when the product is installed. This heater has exposed heating elements and should only be used in commercial and industrial applications where it will be mounted high out of reach. It is not suitable for domestic installation or anywhere there is risk of physical contact with the heater.
Please note that the effective heating range of this heater will be impacted by draughts, air flow and weather conditions. Although infrared heat does not heat the air, and will provide the same level of heating to the objects in its path regardless of air flow, persistent powerful draughts will nonetheless cool you faster than the heat can warm you. In ideal conditions in an indoor space, the Advantage IR3 can heat up to 12m2. In an exposed location, this span may be reduced by up to a third. Do not expect the same comfort besides a gaping warehouse door as you would in a sheltered corner: common sense should prevail. The Advantage IR3 is splashproof, offering protection against splashing water.
To ensure that you get the most from your infrared heaters we strongly recommend purchasing with thermostat control for every heater. These heating controllers will switch the heater on or off as needed to maintain the desired temperature – preventing power wastage and saving you money on your heating bills. This small investment will ensure you get maximum efficiency from your heaters with minimum wasted energy.

The Herschel Advantage IR3 is a great value far infrared heater, designed to deliver comfortable and efficient radiated heat to large indoor areas. Perfect for warehouses and workshops; ideal for covered loading bays and sheltered storage areas.
Herschel Advantage infrared heaters use Ceramicx FTE convex ceramic heating elements paired with aluminised steel reflectors to efficiently generate far infrared heat and direct it out into the room. These heaters maximise comfort and efficiency by heating up within 5 minutes and warming you directly with a natural heat that feels like the warmth from the sun.
Utilitarian yet discreet, the black IR3 sports a hard-wearing design in powder-coated stainless steel. The black glazed ceramic elements give off no visible light, making the heater much subtler than cheaper, glowing quartz heaters. This heater has an IP rating of IPX4 which protects the heater against splashing water.
Ceramic heaters are a great choice for draughty indoor spaces which are difficult to heat by conventional means. Like all infrared heaters, the radiated heat they produce is highly efficient, warming directly without needing to heat up the air. But unlike glowing quartz heaters, which use a higher frequency of infrared, the far infrared radiation used in ceramic heaters is gentle enough to provide comfortable heating for hours on end. This is ideal for hard-to-heat indoor spaces which are occupied for prolonged periods of time, such as churches, function rooms, conservatories, industrial units, portacabins and yoga studios.
The Advantage IR3 is designed for wall mounting and must be installed by a professional electrician. Due to its exposed heating elements, this product is only suitable for use in commercial and industrial locations where there is no risk of accidental contact with the heater. Once fitted, the IR3 requires the bare minimum of maintenance; all you need to do is keep it clean. Far Infrared Heating
The Herschel Advantage IR3 uses far infrared radiation to deliver optimum comfort. This is the most natural, comfortable and efficient form of infrared on the market.
Infrared radiation maximises energy-efficiency by heating objects directly, passing through the air to heat people and objects, just as the sun warms you on a winter's day despite the coldness of the air. But unlike sunlight, which includes harmful UV rays, infrared is a pure, natural heat form which is entirely safe, with many health benefits. Infrared sidesteps the disadvantages of conventional heating products – which heat by convection and expend huge quantities of energy reheating air which is immediately lost to cooler spaces. Because infrared heaters do not need to compensate for heat lost in this manner, they can operate at much lower temperatures than other forms of heating, saving you money on your heating bills.
Far infrared is a longwave form of infrared which is gentler but more easily absorbed by the body than the shortwave infrared given off by glowing quartz heaters. It is the most efficient choice for indoor spaces because it warms thoroughly and comfortably, with all heat absorbed and none wasted. In comparison, shortwave radiation feels more intense against your skin, but won’t warm you to the core. Far infrared is the same frequency of heat given off by our bodies: it is natural, gentle, safe, and so effective that it is used in incubators for babies.
